Lois and I were cycling down the west coast in July 2014 and following the news from West Africa. She asked me if perhaps I was thinking of going to assist. It had crossed my mind and so, on our return I called PHAC and then my erstwhile colleagues at WHO. Below is the story of how the work unfolded.
